 Today in class we covered the following:

First Nations 12:
Chapter 2 Data Retrieval Chart (due on Wednesday and worth 10 marks)
Started watching "Cree Hunters of Mistassini"

Just a reminder that we will be hosting the X country meet tomorrow afternoon.  We will meet at 12:15 in room 300.  Do not be late and dress appropriately because we will be outside for the afternoon!

1. Read "Captive in an English Circus" and worked on a reading response assignment

Hello parents and students.  Today was a busy day in that we had to play catch up from missed instructional time due to picture day.

In Raven's today we covered the following concepts:

Revisited Scott Momaday's poem and discussed his world view
Introduced to a textbook reading strategy SQRRR
Completed a bus stop activity using the introduction in our textbook

English 11
Discussed what a stereotype is and brainstormed examples
Viewed "I'm not the Indian you had in mind" and discussed how media has made inaccurate assumptions of First Nations people
-Started the DVD Reel Injun which focuses on stereotypes of First Nations people in early Hollywood films.

SS 10
-Reviewed Absolute location (lines of latitude and longitude)
-Started a mapping assignment #2 Marathon of Hope (Due on Friday Sept 13)

Homework: comment on today's blog, leave your first and last name and class and receive 5 easy marks!!

Hello parents and students.  Today we jumped into the curriculum and started our learning journey.

Raven's-  Today consisted of a day of planning.  Friday's will be devoted to the Planning portion of our program.

2.) Picked up our textbooks
3.) Discussed SMART Goals
4.) Had class time to write a short term (1-3 weeks), mid term (1-3 months), long term (term, semester) goals.
